I learned to tie with this book. It has invaluable information, but it is a little outdated with some patterns. The basic tying details section could use a little work, but the deer hair section is put in very simple terms, good for beginning tyers. It is still a very helpful tool, especially to help fly tyers think outside the box of "small flies" so commonly taught around here for trout. I would give it a 9 out of 10.
